The Biarritz Capsule: Two Pieces, One Colour, and the Holiday Outfit Formula That Actually Works

There is a moment, somewhere between packing and unpacking, when you realise the problem with holiday jewellery is not quantity. It is intention. The Villa: Villa Kittera, Biarritz

Our shoot took place at Villa Kittera, one of the most beautiful villas in Biarritz. Six-metre high ceilings in the living room, and the Atlantic stretching out beyond the terrace in a 180-degree ocean view as far as the eye could follow.

The Capsule Holiday Wardrobe Formula

A capsule holiday wardrobe lives or dies by its jewellery. Get it right and two dresses become six outfits. Get it wrong and nothing feels finished.
The formula we came back to, again and again, while styling this shoot: one pair of earrings and one bracelet, in the same colour family, worn together or apart. That is the whole system.
The colour we chose was ocean turquoise. Not because it is a trend, though it is, but because it encapsulates everything: the colour of the ocean in front of that villa, the light of the Basque coast in the late afternoon, the particular lightness that only comes when you are properly, finally, on holiday.
